Sooners Showing New CB Interest
It's been a long-time since Oklahoma was so patient in it's recruiting pursuits in the state of Texas but with only seven uncommitted players currently holding offers in the Lone Star state it's hard to call this year anything but an abnormality. However with the Spring evaluation period right around the corner it would seem that number could quickly grow and one player that could be on that list is Mesquite Horn cornerback Devante Harris.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound prospect has been in more and more contact with the Sooners in recent months and is anticipating a trip to Norman in the next few weeks. Interestingly he has a friendship with a few current Sooners who give him strong reviews of their time in Nomrna.
"I'm one of the top corners they are recruiting right now and they definitely said they want to come by in the Spring and watch me workout, they said if I want to come to Oklahoma I'll probably be that nickelback type and they like me a lot," Harris said. "Two guys that grew up with me, Quentin Hayes, and I'm pretty good friends with Joe Powell.
"Oklahoma told me if I came up to a camp and see how they coach and see how they work with other people they'd like to have a look at me."
