Minnesota TE talks Iowa offer
The Iowa Hawkeyes were among the first teams to show interest in Minnesota tight end Will Johnson, but it was unclear if they would have a scholarship offer available for him this summer. That situation cleared up this past week as the Iowa coaching staff finally offered the 6-foot-7, 245-pound Johnson, who has been on a roll with the recruiting process lately.
"Early on, Iowa said they liked me a lot, but might want to wait and see me in camp or see my first couple games this year," said Johnson. "But last week when I talked to Coach Johnson, he said they went over everything and watched my film again and decided they definitely need to offer right now."
Iowa is the seventh program to offer Johnson, joining Minnesota, Auburn, Boston College, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and Northern Illinois.
