Illinois picked up their ninth verbal commitment of the 2012 class on Friday when Chicago Mt Carmel defensive tackle Vontrell Williams pledged to the Illini. Williams (6-foot-3, 275 pounds) picked Illinois over a Kansas and Indiana.
