Striker Runs a Straight Line to Norman
Several prospects in the class of 2012 who committed to Oklahoma later saw their would-be future position coaches head elsewhere. Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Brent Venables and defensive backs coach Willie Martinez both helped gain commitments from three highly regarded prospects whom they would have coached had they stayed in Norman.
After the coaches' departures one of those prospects, Devante Harris decided to decommit and signed with Texas A&M. The other two, Eric Striker and Kasseim Everett, decided to stick with their commitments and signed with the Sooners in February. Striker, a 6-foot-1 and 205-pound four-star linebacker out of Seffner, (Fla.) Armwood was the Sooners lone signee at the position.
Since new linebackers coach Tim Kish took over in Norman, he and Striker have been keeping up with each other.
