LeGrand lands big offer
Dubuque offensive lineman Lucas LeGrand has been steadily picking up more recruiting interest in recent weeks, especially from the Iowa Hawkeyes. On Wednesday, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound LeGrand made the drive to Iowa City to watch the Hawkeyes' first practice of the spring and before leaving town had his first scholarship offer in hand.
"I was just coming in for a visit today because they asked me if I would like to come down sometime and see everything," said LeGrand. "So we got there and saw all of the facilities, met all of the coaches and talked to some of the academic people."
"Then we were just kind of sitting there with Brian Ferentz and he was saying they really like everything about me and the way that I play," he continued. "Then we sat down with Kirk Ferentz and he talked with us for a good 30 or 45 minutes about football, basketball, what I like about the school, and everything."
"Then he said that he really liked everything about me and wants me to be a Hawkeye, so he offered a full scholarship."
