Shootout At The Hall - Players to Watch
Nathan Wollack
BlueDemonZone.com The Shootout at the Hall brings together some of the top prospects in the state of Illinois. Teams scheduled to appear include Champaign Central, Peoria Central, Decatur Eisenhower, Washington, and Peoria Richwoods. Rivals.com takes a look at some of the top players that will appear in the Shootout at the Hall.
Bill Cole, PF, Peoria (Illinois) Peoria Richwoods |
Season Averages: 19 points, 9 rebounds College choices: Signed with Illinois A slender player who will be only 17 years old when he graduates from Richwood High School, Bill Cole works best away from the hoop. At six-foot-nine, two hundred pounds, Cole is developing his body for the rigors of the Big Ten. Cole is a well-reknown outside shooter, who can mix it up defensively down low, as his size creates issues when the opponent shoots. Cole is a former Rivals.com top 150 prospect for 2007, but had not developed enough to maintain his ranking. With a solid senior season, Cole could easily make an appearance back in the Rivals.com Top 150. More performance like the one he put up against Purdue-bound JaJuan Johnson (seventeen points, five rebounds) provides a good argument for inclusion in the rankings. |
Lewis Jackson, PG, Decatur (Illinois) Decatur Eisenhower |
Season Averages: N/A College choices: Iowa, Illinois, DePaul, Indiana, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Xavier, Bradley "He is too short to make an impact on the next level." "He will not be able to get in the lane at the next level like he is doing in high school." At five-foot-nine, Decatur Eisenhower's Lewis Jackson has heard all the knocks on how his height limits him, but when he gets on the court, it is hard to continue to knock him, as he is a gamer who will use his outstanding athleticism to beat his man. The ninty-fourth ranked player in the 2008 class, Jackson is just as likely to drop jaws with gravity defying dunks as he is with a slick dish to a teammate. |
