After 27 regular-season and 14 conference games, it has come to this: no matter what anybody else in the Big East does, if the Fighting Irish win their final two regular-season games-Saturday at home against Marquette and the following Saturday at Rutgers-they'll receive a first-round bye in the Big East tournament. That's a critical factor as the Irish-9-5 in the Big East-continue to aim high in a season that is suddenly skyrocketing after having won three games in six days.
