One of the most high profile recruits in the 2009 class is Birmingham native DeMarcus Cousins, a five-star prospect and the nation's No. 3 overall player. This summer Cousins, 6-foot-9, 234-pounds, is staying relatively below the radar playing on the 16 and under circuit with the Birmingham Storm while perfecting his skill set.

"Recruiting has gotten pretty crazy for me but I'm sort of used to it now and the coaches can only do so much since I'm only a sophomore. But it's nothing I can't handle. I don't mind it," Cousins said. "What I've decided to do mainly is stay focused on the big picture and not worry about the little stuff. I've been getting advice from trainers, my family and my coaches. They are helping me get through it.
