USC gaining ground with Barnum
Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson offensive lineman Ricky Barnum and his teammates started the 2007 season on a high note.
"We won," the 6-foot-2, 260-pound Barnum said. "We played Kathleen. I graded out at 85 percent, so I think that's good. I'm going to be playing a little tackle and probably everything this year, tackle, guard, and center."
Although capable of playing any position on the offensive line, the versatile Barnum has a preference of where he lines up.
"I prefer myself playing at center," he said. "The schools that are looking at me have great tackles coming in. I'm not saying that they're better than me. I think I'm better than them, but I wouldn't mind going inside and playing center."
