Bailey On Cowboy Radar
The Wyoming Cowboys are in the mix for Romeoville (Ill.) and three star ranked outside linebacker prospect Caleb Bailey, a prospect that has received seven offers including one from the Pokes.
The 6-foot-1 and 210 linebacker prospect doesn't bring eye opener athleticism to the field, though he possesses good linebacker instincts and has a chance to develop into a good player in college once he adds size.
Wyoming is known to look into the midwest for prospects and visited Bailey at his high school before extending an offer back in May. Wyoming visited Bailey and then offered him a scholarship via phone two days later.
"I was able to have a good talk with the coaches from Wyoming after they offered me on the phone," said Bailey. "Wyoming is a pretty good school from what I've heard and that the football program has a lot of tradition and history."
The Illinois product plans to check out a few Big 10 schools including Purdue and Iowa this summer. He hasn't set a date to visit Laramie while the possibility remains open to come out to UW in the future.
"I decided that I'm not going to run track this spring. I want to instead focus on lifting and working out strictly for football," said Bailey. "I want to add some good size and strength and I want to be at my best physically for the season."
Bailey has scholarship offers from Toledo, Northern Illinois, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Ball State, Miami (Ohio) and Wyoming.
