Darling and Cozart to visit Kansas
Jordan Darling and Montell Cozart. While Kansas coaches will be hosting to a number of uncommitted recruits this weekend, they will also get a chance to see a number of players already committed. Two of those players are quarterbacks
For Darling, he has been to Lawrence numerous times since he committed last summer, but there are still some new things he is looking forward to seeing on his official visit.
"I haven't personally been in the Jayhawk Towers yet so I am looking forward to seeing where I am going to be living for the next four or five years," Darling said. "I am really looking forward to talking with Coach Powlus one on one and going over some football things."
Darling had an in home visit with the coaches this week and was impressed with how the team competed down the stretch of the season. On his visit he plans to be an aid to any of the undecided players who have questions about Kansas.
"I went to every home game and I would always meet guys who were interested in Kansas and I am always trying to be an ambassador for the Jayhawks and get guys to join me," Darling said. "To let them know that Kansas is going to turn it around which is something I firmly believe in. I just let guys know my perspective and what I feel. I am looking forward to talking with the commits but also seeing the uncommitted guys and getting them to commit because I want as many guys as possible for next year."
Cozart too said that lately he and offensive lineman Joey Bloomfield have been teaming up to be unofficial recruiters for Kansas.
"We are working on a few offensive linemen and skill guys," Cozart said. "We are definitely reaching out."
For Bishop Miege this year Cozart had 2700 passing yards with 32 overall touchdowns, 24 through the air and 8 rushing. Cozart had an in home visit with Ron Powlus earlier in the week to talk about his progress.
"He just talked some things I need to start working on like getting in the weight room," Cozart said. "Just trying to put some pounds on. He said I definitely have a shot at becoming the second string quarterback if I come in and work hard."
