Even if this move does not work out from and individual standpoint (injury, returns to lawn mowing), it is still a huge deal from an organizational standpoint.
Between the free-agent signings, the expansion of international scouting and development, and the expansion of national minor league teams, this organization is really putting things together.
Another thing that needs to be recognized by Royals fans is that we spent more on the 2009 amateur draft than any other team in baseball. That is truly impressive. To go from not spending more than $1000 on rounds four and on to dropping a $1 million+ signing bonus to our fourth round pick is just flat out amazing. If you've been a Royals fan for the last couple decasdes or so, and you don't have a serious case of Royals fever right now... something is seriously wrong with you.
