I agree with the KU fans here and 96Rebel is way off. I have been to every KSU-KU game in Lawrence since 1994 and a to a couple prior to that. From 1996 to 2002, KU had the "leave 2 tickets under the windshield wiper before the game and discover 4 there after the game" problem. $5 or $10 got you in the gates and finding a spot in between the 30's was no problem. A lot of KSU fans, myself included, went to the 2004 game expecting to be able to pick up the usual ticket for $20 5 minutes before kickoff only to discover tickets to be going for close to face value. I've been purchasing mine through K-State since. Friends that have scalped the day of the game in Lawrence have paid face and in some cases, more than face for tickets, in 2006 and 2008.
I don't think the initial poster would have an issue picking up pretty good seats the day of the game for $75-100. But, walking up the day of the game expecting decent seats for less than $75 is risky, IMO. A lot depends on how hard you want to work for it the day of the game. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and be able to enjoy the day of the game vs spending an hour trying to track down tickets.
