USC comes callin'

Houston (Texas) Cy-Fair running back Sam McGuffie was offered by University of Southern California coach Pete Carroll and assistant Ken Norton Jr. during school on Thursday.

McGuffie took the national recruiting scene by storm last season when he rushed for 3,212 yards and for 44 touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 185-pound 5A All-Texas selection was named the Greater Houston Area's Player of the Year in 2006.

McGuffie's scholarship offer list also includes national programs such as Michigan, Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Alabama, just to name a few.
