Vols Chasing Four-Star Athlete McCay
The state of Kansas isn't typically a 'pipeline' producing tons of college football talent. But one class after pulling the top prospect in the nation, Bryce Brown, to Knoxville from the Midwest, Tennessee is back in the state trying to make inroads with another national recruit. This time around it's athlete Justin McCay, one of the more versatile performers in the 2010 class.
McCay (6-foot-3, 197 pounds) from Bishop Miege High school in Shawnee, Kans. is currently being recruited as intensely as just about any prospect in the nation, with Tennessee being among the dozens of programs trying to catch his eye.
This summer, while many of his football peers are attending camps or preparing for their season, McCay is pursuing another one of his 'hobbies', this one as a talented swingman on the Kansas City Pump N' Run summer basketball team.
The Tennessee basketball staff is making a hard push for McCay's high-school teammate Trevor Releford, who McCay's stars with on both the football field and the basketball court.
Rivals.com rates McCay as a four-star prospect, the No. 6 athlete in the nation and the No. 31 overall prospect in the Class of 2010.
