Romero holds Tech offer and plans visit
Every game is won and lost in the trenches they say and no team can ever have too many offensive linemen.
Louisiana Tech is looking for players who can help their spread offense. One place they are looking is Cedar Park, Tx. in the form of Felix Romero
Romero will be camping at Baylor and Texas A&M later this month and has already camped at satellite camps for Houston, Rice and UTEP.
Romero also said he is planning a couple of trips later this month to Ruston, La. to Louisiana Tech and San Marcos, Tx. to Texas State.
Arizona has offered Romero in addition to Louisiana Tech.
"I have already looked into both schools and they are both great schools. To be honest right now, I'm just happy to have an offer," said Romero.
Romero has decided to take his time with his decision and wait to see what other offers come his way.
As an offensive lineman Romero said his strength is run blocking.
"I can really get down in the 3-point stance and drive people out of there. Just getting down and dirty and getting people out of the way," said Romero of his strengths.
Tech special teams coordinator Mark Tommerdahl is recruiting Romero for Tech.
The proximity to his home will play a factor in choosing a school for Romero.
"Yes [playing close to home] will factor into my decision. But, I have family in the Baton Rouge area so that's something I have considered," the talented offensive lineman added.
Romero reports a 1500 total on his SAT, a 25 on his ACT and a 3.9 GPA. However, said he wanted to pull them all up.
Academics will be the biggest factor for Romero and he expects to study a business major.
"The top three factors would be academics, football and proximity to home," added Romero.
In closing, Romero said, "I'm going to consider everything and look at every place that I have an offer to play ball for and I am going to consider everything I have on the table."
