Carter playing mulitple roles for Caledonia
Cole Carter has certainly shown his versatility as a senior for Caledonia (Miss.) High School.
The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder has played tight end, defensive tackle and all along the offensive line this season. On Friday night against Louisville Carter played both ways lining up at left guard and defensive tackle for the Confederates.
"I think it helps show some of my versatility and show what I can do," Carter said after his game. "I have to keep my body in shape to go both ways to try and help my team. I know I'm exhausted right now."
Carter helped pave the way for a Caledonia rushing attack that picked up 188 yards against Louisville in a 42-0 loss on the road. Most of the night the Confederates ran behind Carter up the middle or had him pulling out as the lead blocker.
"We got off to a bad start early on," Carter said. "But we were able to put some drives together in the second half and started to get our offense going a little bit. I think we were intimidated a little bit because they are big, bad Louisville. But I think once we got into the game we realized they put their pants on one leg at a time just like we do and I think we did a little bit better after that."
So far this season Carter has made four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown on offense while defensively making 29 tackles, two tackles for loss and three quarterback hurries.
