Wisnieski visits Iowa
West Des Moines native Jon Wisnieski, who is still the only tight end that Iowa has offered this year, made another visit to campus on Wednesday to check out the Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Wisnieski talks about the visit, where the Hawkeyes currently stand, when he might make a decision, and much more in this Q&A session.
Q: What all did you get to do at Iowa today?
WISNIESKI: I got there at about 9:30 AM and for the majority of the morning and part of the afternoon I just toured the campus, met with an academic advisor, and visited the school of business. After lunch, I headed back to the football facilities and talked with some of the coaches, including Coach Ferentz, and then just went out and watched them practice.
Q: What did you take away from the visit? Was it just about getting more familiar with everybody at Iowa?
WISNIESKI: Yeah. There's been some moves on the coaching staff a little bit as far as who is coaching what, so I got to meet the new tight ends coach, who is a GA right now. He's a really nice guy. Then I just got to become more familiar with what they're doing over there. It was really cool.
Currently, Wisnieski holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, Purdue, Kansas State, and Ole Miss, among others. Rivals.com ranks the Dowling Catholic standout as a three-star recruit and the No. 17 tight end prospect in the nation this year.
