GBK Recruiting Update: OG, Parker Collins

Offensive guard Parker Collins out of North Augusta (SC) North Augusta High School is a prospect who is starting to get more attention as the recruiting process for the 2013 class begins to pick up steam.

The 6-foot-3, 285 pounder indicated that he has been actively hearing from and/or being recruited by Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard, Holy Cross, Cornell, Costal Carolina, Citadel, Air Force, Navy and Army

Although Collins is the first to admit that he academy lifestyle has really caught his attention. "Not really interested in going the academy route," says Collins, who although hearing from several schools, is awaiting his first college offer.

"I'm hearing from Georgia Tech the most so far and I talked to Coach G. A. Mangus for South Carolina yesterday."

The one thing that big offensive guard is hoping to accomplish his summer is showing off his skills a various camps and combines. He has already visited a few schools unofficially and is working hard to get his name out there.

"I went to Georgia Tech last night for the spring game," Collins declared during his conversation with GoBlackKnights.com on Saturday as he spend time on Friday on campus of the Yellow Jackets. "It was good ... I like the atmosphere and everything."

"Then I went to the Gamecocks spring game last Saturday," adds Collins. "I went to the Citadel's game about a month ago and yes, I went to Georgia Tech's Junior Day as well."
