Decision time approaching for Glenn?
Giddings (Texas) running back Joseph Glenn said he is hearing the most from Houston, Purdue and Wake Forest, but does not have a clear-cut favorite.
The 5-foot-9, 189-pound Glenn, who hopes to choose a school in August, claims scholarship offers from Colorado, Houston, Iowa State, New Mexico, Purdue, Texas State, Texas-San Antonio and Wake Forest, while Baylor, BYU, Michigan, Rice, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech have shown interest.
"The school I commit to I'll definitely make a visit there, but if I do commit I'm not going to de-commit, so I'm going to for sure make a big decision and commit to a school I really want to go to," Glenn said.
Glenn added he will not visit other schools after he makes his commitment.
He has made trips to Texas A&M and Texas Tech, while Purdue, Colorado, the Red Raiders, the Aggies (but he missed them), ISU, Wake, New Mexico, Louisiana Tech, U of H, UTSA, Texas State and others traveled to Giddings.
Derrick Jackson is recruiting Glenn for the Deacs.
"It's [his relationship with Jackson] pretty good," Glenn said. "It's not exactly tight yet, but it's good. I talk to him when I can. I feel like he's a good coach."
He added the Demon Deacons, Boilermakers and Cougars believe he has the potential to play as a true freshman.
Rivals.com rates Glenn as the nation's No. 15 all-purpose back and the No. 81 overall prospect in Texas.
Glenn rushed 226 times for 1,514 yards and 24 touchdowns, caught 16 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown and returned two kickoffs back for touchdowns last season. As a sophomore he rushed for 1,192 yards and 13 touchdowns on 108 carries.
"[College coaches like that] I block," Glenn said. "As a running back I'm balanced, but as a receiving back I'm okay. I'm not the greatest receiving back in the world. I'm more of a balanced back and just a little bit receiving."
He hopes to be a part of the return game when he reaches the college level.
Glenn wants to play for a school with a winning reputation and that competes for championships regularly.
