Dawson accepts invite for visit
Clovis, N.M., has always been kind to the Red Raiders as a pro-Texas Tech city just across the border on U.S. Highway 84. Especially in basketball.
The city of about 38,000 gave the Red Raiders sharpshooter and now-assistant coach Bubba Jennings, who started all 117 games he played in for Tech and probably would still be the team's all-time leading scorer if the 3-point line existed when he played the game.
More recently, Clovis produced current Tech forward Jaye Crockett who was the Red Raiders' best player during the course of Big 12 play last season and could have a breakout junior season with an improved surrounding cast.
