Walker Getting Used to Life as Recruiting Star




It was just a few months ago that the name Charles Walker popped up onto the recruiting scene with Oklahoma. Talk of an offer was reported but was later said to be a bit premature by the 6-foot-4 and 280-pound defensive tackle's head coach at Garland (Texas) South Garland. However, the Sooners clearly took notice of Walker just before the annual meeting with Texas in the Cotton Bowl.

Not much was known about Walker at the time was due, in part, to an unfortunate history of injuries throughout his career and those injuries costing him many games during his sophomore and junior years. This past Thursday defensive line coach Jackie Shipp and head coach, Bob Stoops made their way to South Garland to meet face to face with Walker.
