Top Performers: Team First Showcase

Jacksonville, Ill. With snow flurries floating all day long, the Team First Elite 150 Showcase on Sunday at Illinois College drew over 100 prospects from several Midwest states and featured several top prospects.

Here is a breakdown of some of the top performers from the Team First Elite 150 Showcase.

Offensive Co-MVP's The offensive linemen group was easily the top position at this event as the big boys had overall strong numbers, depth and skills and this group had several impressive prospects. Yet when it came down to it two Chicago Public League prospect stood above the rest for top offensive MVP honors.

Ki-Jana Evans Chicago Harlan- listed as an offensive tackle prospect, Evans no question in my mind is more of an interior linemen at the college level and Evans has a chance to become a very strong player. Evans showed great intensity all day long here. Evans has very good size and mobility, uses his hands and feet well and is a big time finisher. Evans took on all comers and won most of his one on one battles here. What impressed me the most about Evans was his motor along with a bit of a nasty streak. Gotta love a kid who keeps coming back for more reps and that was Evans all day here.

OT Kendall Moore Chicago Simeon- shared the offensive MVP camp award and honestly I also felt that both Evans and Moore had equally impressive performances here. Moore impressed me more here than when I saw him at the Core 6 Showcase back in January. Moore physically has upside to grow and add size and it's easy to see why Illinois offered Moore already. Moore was able to use his strength, quickness and excellent all around technique to slow down all comers in one on ones. Moore like Evans also shows a bit of a nasty streak and Moore was just able to lock up all comers. An impressive performance all day from Kendall Moore.

Defensive Most Valuable Performer Again the linemen group on both sides of the ball had a very good and deep group of prospects, yet it was evident very early on that one prospect from Chicago Simeon was hands down the MVP.

DE Devante Lee Chicago Simeon Lee is an eye ball passer at first glance. Lee has a huge wingspan and reach and has the potential to add some serious size and strength over the next few years. Yet Lee is more than just a eyeball passer. Lee was dominant in drill work and in one on ones here. Lee can speed rush or bull rush equally as well and was able to show both at this camp. Lee also just had a great first step and quickness of a player who would be generally much smaller. I'm honestly still shocked that Lee has yet to add any early scholarship offers yet with this combination of physical tools and overall potential. look for Lee's overall recruiting stock to take off sooner rather than later.

Underclassmen Most Valuable Performer DB Doug DiFusco Neuqua Valley (Class of 2014)- DiFusco certainly wasn't the biggest kid or the stronger kid at this camp, but he might of been the quickest kid who just became a pain for the offense on the defensive side of the ball. DiFusco showed great wheels and overall quickness in drills and in one on ones and took multiple rep after rep and more than held his own against bigger and more physical receivers. Again DiFusco just seemed to out-hustle and outwork many others here and hands down deserved this camp award.
