Mueller will transfer from Kansas

Alex Mueller has decided to transfer away from the University of Kansas. The sophomore kicker from Grapevine, Tex., recently came to the conclusion he is looking for a place closer to home.

"I have been talking with my family about and decided this is what is best for me," Mueller said. "I want to look at schools in Texas which will be closer to home."

As a freshman Mueller was the place-kicker in the first eight games. After going through spring football and getting to know other players it was a tough decision.

"I created a bond with a lot of players," he said. "I am close with a lot of them. The coaching staff is doing great things and turning it around. I wish nothing but the best for the football program."

Mueller said he doesn't have any schools lined up or a list to choose from.

"I'm just now starting to think about schools in the state (Texas)," Mueller said.
