Arkansas big man reaches decision

Arkansas transfer Hunter Mickelson has reached a decision regarding his future. Mickelson, the 6-foot-10, 245-pound forward from Jonesboro, Ark., provided Jayhawk Slant with the very latest.

Mickelson, who appeared in 64 games during his two-year career at Arkansas, has informed Jayhawk Slant that he's decided to transfer to the University of Kansas. As a freshman, Mickelson averaged 5.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Mickelson, as a sophomore, averaged to 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. In 32 games, he connected on 47 percent of his field goals and 80 percent of his free-throws.

Mickelson, who holds the Arkansas freshman record for blocked shots in a season, scored a career-high 16 points against Robert Morris on December 20, 2012. As a sophomore, Mickelson scored in double-figures six times.
