Kansas vs. Baylor: The Series:
The Kansas-Baylor series dates back to 1951 with the Jayhawks leading 19-4. Baylor has won two of the last three meetings, both being away from Allen Fieldhouse: 81-72 in the semifinals of the 2012 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City, Mo., and 81-58 last season in the regular-season finale for both teams in Waco, Texas. The Jayhawks are 11-0 versus the Bears in games played in Lawrence, including a 10-0 record inside Allen Fieldhouse.
Since the inception of the Big 12, KU is 17-4 versus BU: 17-2 in regular-season play and 0-2 in the Big 12 Championship. Kansas head coach Bill Self is 11-4 all-time against Baylor, including 11-3 while at Kansas, while Baylor's Scott Drew is 3-11 versus Kansas. Kansas On ESPN Big Monday:
Kansas will appear on ESPN's Big Monday four times in 2014 with the win at Iowa State (1/13) being the first occasion. Since the inception of the Big 12 in 1996-97, Kansas is 50-16 all-time on ESPN's Big Monday (27-1 at home, 23-15 on the road), including 31-8 under head coach Bill Self. Additionally, KU has won 20-straight Big Monday games in Allen Fieldhouse, which includes a 16-0 mark under Self.
Kansas vs. Ranked Foes Under Bill Self:
Should Baylor remain in the rankings, the Bears will be the seventh ranked team Kansas has faced in 2013-14. The Jayhawks are 4-2 against ranked foes this season having defeated then-No. 4 Duke, 94-83, in the State Farm Champions Classic on Nov. 12 at the United Center in Chicago, lost at then-No. 19 Florida, 67-61 on Dec. 10, lost to then-No. 21 San Diego State, 61-57 on Jan. 5, defeated then-No. 25 Kansas State 86-60 on Jan. 11, won at No. 8/9 Iowa State, 77-70 on Jan. 13 and defeated No. 9/8 Oklahoma State, 80-78, on Jan. 18.
Kansas has played 80 games against Associated Press-ranked opponents in the 10-plus seasons under head coach Bill Self. Last year, Kansas went 5-2 against ranked foes. Under Self, KU is 52-28 (65.0 percent) against ranked competition. That percentage has an upward trend since the 2007-08 season as the Jayhawks are 42-18 (70.0 percent) versus ranked foes.
Kansas-Oklahoma State: The Leftovers:
-- Kansas remains the only undefeated team in conference play at 4-0. KU is 4-0 for the third straight season and the seventh time in the 11-year Bill Self era.
-- Improves KU's record to 706-109 all-time in Allen Fieldhouse and 168-9 at home under Self.
-- The Jayhawks are now 4-2 against ranked opponents in 2013-14, and 3-0 against top-10 foes (No. 4/4 Duke; No. 8/10 Iowa State). Kansas has defeated its last three ranked foes.
-- With 1:15 to play in the opening frame, the Kansas defense, aided by the sold-out crowd, recorded its eighth shot clock violation of the season. The Jayhawks forced the Cowboys into another shot clock violation with 18:26 left in the game, for their ninth of the season.
-- Junior G Naadir Tharpe scored a team-best 21 points, the second time he's led the Jayhawks in scoring. Tharpe has back-to-back 20-point efforts after also scoring 23 at Iowa State (1/13). All three of Tharpe's career 20-point efforts have come in the last six games. Tharpe added a game-high six assists.
-- Sophomore F Jamari Traylor finished the game with a career-high nine points and added three rebounds.
-- With 1:56 left in the first half, freshman G Wayne Selden, Jr. drained his first three-pointer to extend his streak to 11-straight games with at least one three-point make.
-- Freshman C Joel Embiid blocked eight shots to record a new career high and continued his streak of 11-straight games with at least one block. The eight blocks broke his own freshman record for blocks in a single game (seven vs. UTEP, 11/30), tied the Big 12 freshman record for all games and broke the Big 12 freshman record for league games only. Embiid has five or more blocks in four games this season.
-- The Cameroon native's eight blocks give him 49 for the season and moves him into second on the all-time freshman block's list at Kansas, trailing only Darrell Arthur (54, 2007) and Eric Chenowith (62, 1998).
-- In addition to his blocks, Embiid chipped in 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, for his fourth-career double-double.
-- Freshman G Brannen Greene hit a three pointer in scoring a career-high tying five points.
-- Kansas is 10-1 when shooting 50 percent or better in the game and has eclipsed the 50 percent field goal percentage in three of four Big 12 games. The Jayhawks have shot 50 percent or better in 11 games, including six of their last eight contests and seven of the last 10 outings.
-- In 11 of KU's 13 victories, the Jayhawks have scored at least 80 points.
-- Kansas has outrebounded 15 of its 17 opponents this season, including all four Big 12 contests. KU has eight games with a +10 rebound advantage and its +17 at Iowa State (1/13) was a season best. KU has a +10 rebound advantage in five of its last eight contests.

-- After his 19 rebounds at Iowa State (1/13), freshman G Andrew Wiggins has now led Kansas in rebounds three times this season. He leads the Big 12 freshman class in scoring (15.1 ppg).
-- Sophomore F Perry Ellis has shot 60 percent or better in nine games this season and the Jayhawks are 9-0 in those contests.
