Located in Fort Worth, Texas, with an enrollment of 9,518, TCU is 10-16 on the season and 1-12 in its first season of Big 12 competition. The Horned Frogs are looking to end a four-game losing streak, which included a 68-59 loss to Texas Tuesday. The Horned Frogs are coached by Trent Johnson who is 10-16 in his first season at TCU and 236-201 in his 14th season overall. TCU is 8-8 at home, 1-7 in road games, 1-1 on neutral courts this season and has a -6.5 scoring margin. TCU ranks third in the Big 12 in scoring defense, allowing 60.6 points per game.
Sophomore guard Kyan Anderson leads TCU in scoring with 11.2 points per game. He is also the team leader with 38 three-pointers, 89 assists and 39 steals. Senior forward Garlon Green is next in scoring at 10.2 points per game and is second on the team with 21 three-pointers made. Senior forward Adrick McKinney is the TCU leader in rebounds with 6.4 per contest, which ranks 12th in the Big 12. McKinney is scoring 8.0 points per outing in 2012-13.
Senior guard Nate Butler Lind is a starter who scores 5.1 points per game and is second on the team with 44 assists and 24 steals. Senior forward Connell Crossland is another TCU starter who is second on the team with a 5.9 rebound average and scores 6.4 points per game. Sophomore forward Devonta Abron has 15 starts for the Horned Frogs this season and averages 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
Freshman guard Charles Hill Jr. rounds out the TCU regulars. He has started six conference games and scores 3.5 points per contest.
Kansas vs. TCU: The Series
Though this is the second conference meeting between Kansas and TCU, the men's basketball series between the two schools dates back to 1952 when the Jayhawks defeated the Horned Frogs 68-64 on March 21 in the NCAA Midwest Regional at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. Kansas is 4-1 against TCU with two games on neutral floors: the 1952 contest and a KU 94-78 win vs. TCU on Dec. 20, 1997, at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo.
KU swept a home-and-home series with TCU in 2003 and 2004 with an 85-66 win in Fort Worth on Dec. 1, 2003, and a 93-74 victory on Dec. 9, 2004, in Allen Fieldhouse. Kansas head coach Bill Self is 8-4 all-time against TCU, including 2-1 while at Kansas. TCU head coach Trent Johnson is 2-0 against Kansas. In Self's first season at Kansas, Johnson's Stanford team defeated KU 64-58 on Dec. 6, 2003, in Anaheim, Calif., in the Wooden Classic.
Earlier this season, TCU defeated then-No. 5 Kansas 62-55 (Feb. 6) in Fort Worth, Texas. The win was TCU's lone Big 12 victory of the 2012-13 season thus far. Ben McLemore paced KU with 15 points, while Jeff Withey added 12 and pulled down eight rebounds. Guard Naadir Tharpe scored 11 for the Jayhawks. TCU's Garlon Green led all scorers with 20 points, while Connell Crossland added 15 rebounds in the Horned Frogs' victory.
