AJ Carter plans to visit Kansas during the season

AJ Carter is starting to get a Big 12 flavor to his recruiting list. In the last week he has been offered by Kansas and Texas Tech.

Kansas running backs coach Tony Hull has ties to Louisiana and that’s how they knew about the running back from Many High.

“It was a blessing to get offered by Kansas,” Carter said. “It is a good school in is one of my best offers.”

Carter confirmed Hull is the lead recruiter. He remembers watching Hull on television when he led Warren Easton to the state finals.

“The year we went to state is the same year they (Warren Easton) went,” Carter said. “I was watching them on NOLA.com and he was speaking to his team. He made them believe and they did believe in him. That is something that I remember and it stood out to me.”

Carter, a 6-foot-2, 210 pound running back has picked up offers from Kansas, Texas Tech, and Louisiana Tech.

“Coach Hull said he likes what I bring to the table,” Carter said. “He told me he watched my film I stand out. He said he likes my size and speed.”

Carter said his head coach Jess Curtis is friends with Hull. He plans to take an unofficial visit to Kansas this fall.
