Danzey holds BCS offers

One offensive linemen in the Kansas junior college ranks picking up early offers is Devonte Danzey. The Hutchinson Community College prospect recently took a visit to Kansas to check out the program.
"It was very impressive," Danzey said. "I didn't think it was going to be that nice. All of their coaches were great to talk with and they all have good experience."

Kansas assistant Clint Bowen stopped by Hutchinson earlier in the spring. After evaluating his film the Jayhawks offered Danzey a scholarship. On the visit he also met with offensive line coach Tim Grunhard.
"I call coach Bowen all the time," Danzey said. "We talk to or three times a week. I like him a lot. It was good meeting coach Grunhard. He played 10 years with the Chiefs so he knows about what it takes. I liked his personality."
Danzey made the rounds talking with different coaches and near the end got an opportunity to visit with head coach Charlie Weis.
"It was good to meet him since I have seen him a lot on TV," Danzey said. "It was an honor and pleasure to meet him. He has a lot of NFL and college experience and won Super Bowl rings."
Most schools are recruiting Danzey as a center or guard. This year he will play tackle for Hutchinson. He has received offers from Kansas, South Florida, and Troy. West Virginia has been sending him the most mail.
He plans to visit South Florida and Troy. The Bulls will be a strong option since it is close to home. He played high school football at Tampa Bay Tech where he was the team's offensive MVP as a senior. Danzey also plans to return to Kansas for another visit.
"I think I will take an official visit during my bye week this season," he said. "I have talked to coach Bowen about that. I want to go somewhere I can play right away so this is a business decision. I have all three years to play but I want to play early."
