I think with where we are with our football team it comes down to confidence and we beat a good team in a crucial situation where we needed to make a play and we were able to execute it to perfection. To win a football game the way we did goes a long way in getting your football team in the right direction.
Gill on the importance of scoring at the end of the first half…
I think those drives and being able to execute and doing what we need to do is a compliment to our staff and our players. They have bought into what we are doing in offense, defense, and special teams. We still have some work to do and we are working to get better.
Gill on having so many running backs get carries…
We try to define what the roles are on our football team and we can never guarantee how many reps a player is going to get. Guys on this team understand their opportunities and that is important for us to be a successful football team. Our guys understand that and have bought into it.
Gill on the injury of John Williams
It hurts anytime you lose one of your starters but it provides an opportunity for someone else. We have some players who can come in here and produce and we just have to move on.
Turner Gill on attacking Georgia Tech next week..
I think we need to create turnovers. They are so good at what they do on offense and they stick to it. You have to tackle well.
Gill on the rehab of injured defensive tackle Pat Dorsey…
He is doing okay. There is no set timetable but the training coaches think 3 to 4 weeks. Right now he is moving along and there is no set time period as to when he will be back but we hope to get him back soon.
Gill on his thoughts on Northern Illinois' Chandler Harnish…
He is all that. He is a good football player. He makes everybody around him better. He makes the throws and he makes the runs. I think the big thing with him is containment. You just try to slow him down because he can makes plays with his arm but he can also make players miss tackles.
