Just when it looked like Malik Hairston was finally ready to make a decision about his future; it now appears that he will need an additional day. Richard Hairston just informed JayhawkSlant.com that his son will announce his college intentions on Thursday. Hairston plans to sit down with his family to discuss all his options before selecting a school.
“Tomorrow is the day,” Richard Hairston said. “We plan to sit down as a family to talk about Malik’s decision. Speedy Walker (AAU coach) will also be joining us for the meeting. We want to make sure that the best decision is made, which is why we have decided to wait an extra day.
“If a decision is made before tomorrow, I will call you right away to let you know,” he added. “I imagine we will discuss the pros and cons of each school and the relationship we have with each coach. Everything should be done tomorrow.”
Rivals.com ranks Hairston No. 7 on the Rivals150 list and the second best shooting guard in the class of 2004.
