Xavier Henry has made a decision about his future. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound shooting guard from Oklahoma City, Okla., will announce his intentions at 3:00 today in Lawrence. It's believed that Henry, who averaged 13.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season, will forgo his final three years of eligibility and enter the NBA draft.
"I'll meet with X," said Kansas head coach Bill Self back on March 23. "I saw him yesterday (Monday), briefly, and we didn't really talk about much. I'll meet with him and see what he and his family want me to do. I'm not going to do something they don't want me to do or I'll do whatever they want me to do.
"But that will be a family decision," he added. "There's no timetable that I have whatsoever on them getting together and making a decision. I don't think the decision has been made yet, but I think there is probably a way in which they are leaning, but we'll just wait and see what happens."
It's believed Henry, who arrived in Lawrence with the highest of expectations, will announce his intentions to enter the NBA draft during a 3:00 PM press conference in Lawrence later today.
Should Henry ultimately forgo his final three years of eligibility, Self will no doubt look to sign two more prospects from the 2010 class.
The two biggest priorities remaining are five-star prospects Josh Selby and Doron Lamb. Both are expected to announce their intentions during halftime of the Jordan Brand All-American game on April 17.
