Kansas wide receiver D.J. Beshears talked with Jayhawk Slant at the Kansas media day on Monday. Beshears started at cornerback last season as a true freshman but moved to slot wide receiver during the offseason.
Beshears on going back to wide receiver:
I am glad to be back, that was my favorite position in high school. When I first committed to Kansas, that is the position that I thought I was going to be playing.
Beshears on KU's expectations for the year:
I don't know if you ever want to be the underdog, but we really want to show people how talented we are and that's what it is all about.
Beshears on guys becoming leaders:
The big three guys are Johnathan Wilson, Drew Dudley and Steven Johnson. They have really become more vocal.
Beshears on which linebackers have taken Huldon Tharp's spot:
They have had Justin Springer, Drew Dudley and Steven Johnson playing all three spots. So far they have been making a lot of plays.
Beshears on the biggest competition in camp besides quarterback:
Probably running back. James Sims actually had a really good practice a day ago and Brandon Bourbon has shown signs that he can be good.
Most improved players during the summer:
Greg Brown and Prinz Kande took it to another level during the offseason.
