KU is the pick for Big Man David McCormack

Down to Kansas, Duke, North Carolina State, Oklahoma State, UCLA, and Xavier, David McCormack, the 6-foot-10, 260-pound center from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., late last week, decided he was ready to put an end to his recruitment.

Having recently visited North Carolina State and Xavier, along with Kansas unofficially, McCormack, the No. 33 ranked player in the 2018 class, had seen enough to make a final decision regarding his future.

For Kansas head coach Bill Self and his staff, the news couldn’t have been any sweeter, as McCormack, has verbally committed to Kansas.

JayhawkSlant.com spoke to Rivals.com National Basketball Analyst Eric Bossi about KU’s most recent addition from the 2018 class.

“(David) McCormack is a kid who has spent the last couple of years transforming his body and his game,” said Bossi. “He’s become a true low post power broker who holds space, plays with physicality and is a dangerous back to the basket scorer.

“He seems to be a great fit for Kansas and should be ready to play early in his Big 12 career,” he added.

McCormack now joins five-star power forward Silvio De Sousa in KU's 2018 recruiting class.
