KU Signing Day Central

On Tuesday evening Jayhawk Slant confirmed there will be 10 junior college prospects sign their letters of intent. Marquel Combs, Chris Martin, Zach Fondal, Mike Smithburg, Dexter McDonald. Ngalu Fusimalohi, Tedarian Johnson, Trevor Pardula, Cassius Sendish , and Ty McKinney all said they will sign with the Jayhawks.
Although it may not be officially announced today high school prospect Colin Spencer has confirmed he will enroll early.

We will have coverage through the day and comments from the players as they send in their faxes.
The Kansas coaching staff has been one of the national susprised on the recruiting trail so far this season. We will also have reaction from national analysts talking about their efforts.

Update 12:51 p.m.
Chris Martin confirmed he sent his letter of intent into Kansas. The four-star defensive end looks to make it a perfect 10-for-10 days for the Jayhawks.
Update 12:33 p.m.
Tedarian Johnson, a defensive tackle from Hinds C.C. just faxed in his letter of intent. He just called us to say it should be arriving at the KU fax machine any second.
"It feels great to be a Jayhawk," Johnson said. "I've been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. I'm looking forward to getting in and playing with some new guys. I hope to help the program and turn it around. I just want to contribute and get going."
Update 12:19 p.m.
Theria Malone, the mother of Zach Fondal just confirmed they sent the papers to KU. Arkansas tried to make a late run at Fondal last week
Update 11:43 a.m.
Combs said his fax is now at the KU football office. He signed with a #92 Kansas jersey on. Up next could be Tedarian Johnson who is on the way to fax his letter.
"I am very excited to join the Jayhawk Nation," Combs said. "I'm ready to get there on January 22 and meet all of my teammates."

Marquel Combs has signed his letter of intent. He said he is making way to the fax to sign it with the Jayhawks.

Update 9:47 a.m.
With a strong west coast look several of today's signees won't become official until later than normal.
Marquel Combs said he will sign at a ceremony at Pierce C.C. He will fax his letter in after 1:00 p.m. central time.
Both Chris Martin and Ngalu Fusimalohi will sign together at CCSF. Fusimalohi confirmed at 9:49 a.m. he has signed with Kansas but will send his fax in shortly.
Update 9:17 a.m.
Dexter McDonald has signed and will fax it on the way to the gym. He said he's ready to get a work out in after signing.
"Through this whole process it has been a blessing," he said. "When I first left KU I didn't know how it would all work out. Then this season at Butler I was hurt. So it is great knowing I have a good at Kansas. I will get to play for great coaches. I know we have a really good class coming in and I'm ready to get in get the ball rolling."
Update 8:58 a.m.
Defensive tackle Ty McKinney has signed.
"I'm glad I accomplished everything and took care of business," he said. "I'm glad to join the Jayhawk family. It feels good to send my letter and get to work."
Update 8:35 a.m.
Smithburg is signing his LOI.
"I'm excited and ready to get to work," he said. "The thing that stood out to me were the people and coaches. I really liked coach Weis and Grunhard. I can see myself around people like that for the next two years."
Update 8:22 a.m.
Smithburg, McKinney, and Tedarian Johnson are expected to fax within the hour.
Combs said he will sign during a ceremony at Pierce C.C. and fax it in after it is over. That is expected to be around noon west coast time.
Update 7:02 a.m.
- Cassius Sendish may be the first one in. He is back home in Washington D.C. and said he will sign his leter and send it shortly after 7 a.m. central time. We will have an update when Sendish sends his letter in to Kansas.
- Sendish just confirmed he signed his letter and his mother is faxing it in. The defensive back from Arizona Western will be the first to sign with the Jayhawks in 2013 class.
"It has been a blessing to get this opportunity and I'm ready to take advantage of it," Sendish said on signing day. "I'm excited to be a part of the Lawrence community and KU family. I'm looking forward to getting there."
