Last weekend the Jayhawks hosted two recruits from Louisiana in Al’Dontre Davis and Justin Harris. Louisiana has become a new recruiting ground for the Jayhawks after hiring Tony Hull, who was the head at Warren Easton in New Orleans.

Davis, a 6-foot, 195 pound receiver has already picked up offers Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas State and several others.

“It was amazing and a pleasure to be out here,” Davis said of Kansas. “It is a very beautiful campus and the tour was outstanding. It was good to be around the coaches and see how they run the Kansas program.”

Davis and Harris are cousins and Harris added they would like to attend the school if that’s possible.

Harris is an interesting prospect who has been picking up more attention from college recruiters. At 6-foot-7, 245 pounds his frame is what the college coaches are looking for. Harris liked what he saw on the visit and mentioned the facilities.

“I liked it a lot and I felt like I was at home,” Harris said. “I like all of the coaches I’m at and they had good facilities.”

He also talked about Capitol Federal Hall, the new business school building that was recently built. Harris wants to major in Business.

Harris spent a lot of time around Hull and head coach Davis Beaty on his Saturday visit.

“I spent most of my time around coach Hull and coach Beaty,” he said. “They made it clear they want me to be at KU and they said they liked me a lot. Kansas is one of my top schools. I need to go back and talk to my head coach and my uncle about the visit.”
