Morris scored a career-high 21 points in the Jayhawks' only game of the week, a 78-63 victory at California. The junior forward connected on 8-of-14 (.571) shots from the field, including one 3-pointer. He was 4-of-4 from the free throw line while grabbing 10 rebounds and two steals in a career-best 31 minutes off the bench. It was his fourth double-double of the season and fifth of his career. Two of those efforts have come in the last three games. Morris has led Kansas in scoring twice in 2010-11 and in rebounds on seven occasions. He ranks first in the Big 12 with 9.1 rebounds per game.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:

Thompson was a key component of the Longhorns' 67-55 win at Michigan State, a victory that ended the Spartans' 52-game home court win streak against non-conference opponents. The freshman forward recorded his third double-double of the year with 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds (six offensive). He made 6-of-13 (.462) shots from the field and was 5-of-8 (.625) from the free throw line. He also added three steals, one assist and one block in 38 minutes. Through his first 12 collegiate games, Thompson leads the team in rebounding (8.0 rpg), blocks (24) and steals (16) and has posted 11.2 points per game.
