Miller believed in Beatys plan at Kansas

The last month of recruiting has taken a lot of turns for Tyrone Miller. The defensive back from Saline (Mich) committed to Central Michigan but opened things up when the head coach Dan Enos left for Arkansas.
Miller took an official visit to Wyoming and finished up this weekend with a visit to Kansas. During his meeting with Kansas head coach David Beaty he made his decision.

"I talked to coach Beaty and he was telling me about himself and how he will change the program," Miller said. "I believed in what he said and I committed to him. He was excited."
The Jayhawks started recruiting Miller close to three weeks ago. Kansas assistant Reggie Mitchell who has ties to the Michigan area got the process started.
"He did a great job recruiting me," Miller said of Kansas. "He came to my house two weeks ago and sat down with me and my mom. We both liked what he had to say about Kansas."
Before Miller committed he said he spoke with his mother, Rose, by phone. She told him Kansas was a good place for him. During the visit he liked what he saw from the players and his host Corey Avery.
"I liked how all of the players have a bond," Miller said. "I liked all of the facilities in the dorms. Kansas has a lot of support from the fans."
Miller, a cornerback, is a two-time selection of the Michigan Live Dream Team. He played his junior year with a torn ligament in his left shoulder. This year he helped Saline make it to the Division One finals. Last summer he turned in solid camps at Michigan and Michigan State. Both schools showed him a lot of interest.
"Michigan recruited me first and then Michigan State started," Miller said. "Michigan was recruiting me the hardest and then their staff got let go and I lost touch after that. Michigan State filled up at cornerback but I had been talking to them a long time."
The Kansas coaches evaluated his film and then Mitchell was quickly on his way to Michigan to recruit him.
"They told me they liked how I can be physical," Miller said of the Kansas coaches. "They said I can play up or off the line. They also said I could play corner or safety."
It is believed Miller was recruited to play corner. The next step for Miller is signing with the Jayhawks on Wednesday.
"I feel fantastic," Miller said. "I'm ready to sign with Kansas and play Big 12 football."
