Kenyon Tabor now holds offers from the two Kansas schools.

The Derby receiver got on the phone with the Kansas coaches late Wednesday and received word the Jayhawks were extending him a scholarship offer. The Kansas coaches were in Texas at satellite camps and once the camps were over they talked with Tabor.

“I talked to coach Perry and he put me on the phone with coach Beaty,” Tabor said. “He said they just got done with a camp in Texas and the other guys at my position they're recruiting aren’t even close, so they said they were going to offer me.”

Tabor attended the Jayhawks satellite camp last week in Wichita. He was happy to pick up his second Power Five offer.

“I was very excited,” he said. “KU is recruiting well and they are on the rise. They're getting brand new facilities and I’m excited to see what they will do in the future.”

Derby head coach Brandon Clark said Tabor has been developing physically and that’s one thing that is catching the attention of college coaches.

“He’s gained some weight and he’s growing vertically,” Clark said. “He’s up to around 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. You are seeing the growing trend of offenses using the H-back and some have talked about that. You can flex him out, put him in motion, or as a tight end on the line.”

Clark said Tabor has run a 4.6 on electronic timing. Clark said Perry has been active since taking over the Wichita area and they have a good line of communication into KU with Gene Wier handling the high school relations position.

Tabor now holds offers from Kansas and Kansas State. He said he plans to attend several camps this summer.
