The recruiting will get back into full swing this weekend with wide receiver Takulve Williams. The Louisiana prospect will make his way to Lawrence. Going into the weekend Williams is the only known visitor.

One of the things high on his list is getting a closer look at the new upgrades inside the Anderson Family Football Complex.

“I’m going up this weekend and I can’t wait to see that facility,” Williams said. “Coach Hull sent me the video and I was like this is amazing.”

This season Williams turned in big numbers as a receiver and return man. He was named to the NOLA All-Metro team as a return specialist. He averaged 25.8 yards a punt return, and 51 yards on kick returns. He returned two punts for touchdowns and two kickoffs for scores.

Williams said Hull liked what he saw on film this season.

“He likes my effort and he says they will try to get me the ball in space,” Williams said.

The Jayhawks run a spread offense and Williams thinks that style will fit his strengths. Williams has communicated with the Kansas coaches during his season.

“It is always good to talk to Coach Hull,” Williams said. “I feel like I am already one of his sons because he is always looking out for me. Coach Beaty asks how I’m doing and how my family is.”

Williams said Kansas State, Texas Tech, and ULL showed interest in him during the season.

He is looking forward to visiting Lawrence and said his mother, father, and younger brother will be with him.
