The improvements inside the Anderson Family Complex and upgrades for the football program aren’t slowing down.

KU Athletics Director Dr. Sheahon Zenger confirmed they are adding a new nutritional center inside the football complex.

“This is a high-end nutritional center that is attractive to the modern day football player,” Zenger said. “There are only a handful of places that have this.”

Zenger said it will be up to the level of quality compared to the new locker room and strength and conditioning center already in place.

The project is around $200,000 and within guidelines of NCAA compliance standards. It will be a supplemental nutrition area and easy accessible for all of the players. Last year new locker rooms were built along with new digital screens as well as the player’s lounge and new meeting room.

“Science has proven that optimal performance it tied to so much more than just working out and running,” said Kansas head football coach David Beaty. “Specified nutrition and recovery designed for each individual has emerged as critical aspects to optimal performance. This is the next step in the wholistic development of our athletes. The commitment to our program that Dr. Zenger has shown us is second to none and once again shows his commitment to winning.”
