Wyatt talks about changes

As the Jayhawks prepare for Georgia Tech we had a chance to speak with Kansas defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator Buddy Wyatt.
Wyatt on Keba Agostinho"Keba has been a pleasant surprise in just that he has been more productive than people think. He has played very well against the run against both McNeese State and Northern Illinois. He is going to be where he is supposed to be and you can always count on Keba doing that. He is very trustworthy and our goal for Keba was for him to be more productive and he is not where he needs to be or where we want him to be but he is doing a better job and being more productive."

Wyatt on what Toben Opurum needs to work on to get to the next level…"I think something he needs to do - because he is already a good football player but to be an outstanding football player - is to stay focused and study the game a little bit more. It's not necessarily on the field but off the field as well. He is a smart young man and learning comes easy to him but sometimes he overlooks the small things He is starting to understand how to play defense because he still hasn't played defense all that long so I see him getting better and better. One thing that encourages me is he plays extremely hard."
"He just needs to work on recognizing formations and tendencies that will help him anticipate what the offense is trying to do so he can be more productive than what he's been."
Wyatt on the loss of John Williams…With losing John Williams it made our depth there a little shorter but we got some guys who have been coming on so this is guys opportunity to show what they can do. We got guys like Randall Dent who he has done really well and hasn't missed a beat since he moved over from the offensive line. He has gotten bigger and stronger and he has matured. We have guys like Shane Smith who hasn't played much out there but will have an opportunity to show what he can do.
Wyatt on the rehab of Pat Dorsey…"He is working extra trying to get back and his rehab has been going well. He is a little bit ahead of schedule and hopefully that remains the case. We are trying to get him back as soon as we can."
Wyatt on which defensive lineman made the biggest jump from week 1 to week 2…"I would say Richard Johnson made the biggest jump grade wise and he made the biggest stride. I think he attacked the line of scrimmage more and I have been trying to get him to do that more since I got here. He has a tendency to wait and see what happens instead of attacking the line of scrimmage."
Wyatt on moving Pat Lewandowski inside to the nose guard spot…"There is always conversation because of what he did in the spring and doing such a good job inside in the spring. We may do that later on but we would have to play a freshman in the anchor end spot behind Keba."
Wyatt on Ben Goodman"He is progressing but right now we just feel comfortable with Lewandowski and Keba at that spot."
