After slicing his list of schools down to eight a little over a month ago, four-star power forward Jermaine Harris has scheduled five official visits.

Not long ago, Jermaine Harris, the 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from Rock Creek Christian Academy in Clinton, Md., was considering scholarship offers from the likes of Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Rhode Island, South Carolina, Southern Utah, West Virginia, Xavier, Georgetown, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Old Dominion, Penn State, Seton Hall, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and others.

However, in-order to take the next step forward in his recruitment, Harris, the No. 75 ranked player in the 2018 class, narrowed his list of schools down to eight on July 17.

When the dust finally settled, only Kansas, Maryland, Miami (FL), Rhode Island, South Carolina, Southern Utah, West Virginia and Xavier were left standing for the four-star power forward.

Not long after going public with his updated list of schools, Harris broke down the eight schools who made the cut in an interview with Dan McDonald (Contributing Analyst).

"Kansas culture and staff speaks for themselves they do a good job of developing guys with my skill set,” Harris told McDonald back on July 17.

Working with a list of eight schools, Harris, after numerous conversations with family members, along with Rock Creek Christian Academy head coach Chris Cole, selected five schools to officially visit in the fall.

Cole, early on Saturday afternoon, informed JayhawkSlant.com that Harris had scheduled all five official visits.

In all, the talented power forward will visit West Virginia (9/15), Rhode Island (922), Xavier (9/29), Kansas (10/6) and Miami (FL) (10/20).

“We simply wanted to see the fit for Jermaine as a basketball player, but we also wanted to see some things outside the realm of basketball to help him succeed,” said Cole.

Cole, when talking specifically about Kansas, said several things stand out about the program.

“I think Bill Self and his staff have done an unbelievable job with developing kids at the position Jermaine plays and with his tools,” he said. “The winning speaks for itself, but for personal reasons, that’s what stands out for us.”
